Arop stands at 6′ 7″ tall (206 cm) and weighs 115 kg. He became interested in the game when he moved to Houston, Texas. Eventually, basketball games motivated him to become a star.

Aguek Arop was born to Arop and Aleuliny Arop. His parents lived in Sudan and raised him with love and care.

Eventually, Arop’s family and siblings moved to Egypt, fleeing a brutal civil war. Eventually, he and his family landed in Houston, US.

Later Aguek relocated his family to Omaha, Nebraska, seeking better opportunities in sports. He began playing basketball after he and his parents moved to the new city.

Aguek’s parents have nine children, and he is the middle child of the nine kids.

He has six brothers, Akol, Makoor, Arop, Deng, Aguek, and Jacob. Also, he has two sisters, Athiang and Achol. 

One source article suggests that the San Diego State University player received U.S. citizenship in 2022. He obtained citizenship nearly 20 years after leaving his home country in Africa.

Also, Arop and his parents had to follow a flurry of paperwork, meeting, and examination to acquire citizenship.
