Gigi Hadid has clearly perfected the art of fall layering.
In her latest street-style moment, the supermodel stepped out in New York City yesterday wearing a look that combined the best of sporty and preppy tastes. To make a statement, she relied on a bright green and creamy white varsity jacket from a Carhartt WIP x Awake NY collaboration. The outerwear featured a blue flower illustration on the right breast and multiple embroidery details all over, including the names of cities like New York, Paris, Tokyo, and Amsterdam on the sleeves. Hadid layered the jacket over a checked charcoal work shirt from her cashmere brand, Guest in Residence, and a plain white tee.
As for the rest of her ensemble, she accented the look with black elements, including a pair of billow high-rise trousers, an oblong leather purse from Miu Miu, and black and white leather loafers. She accessorized with cat-eye sunglasses in a tortoiseshell frame and a navy blue Guest in Residence beanie.

Last year, the model spoke to Harper’s Bazaar about adding “creative director” to her mantle of achievements with the launch of Guest in Residence. “I know people are like, Oh, you know, I’m sick of my office job. And I’m so stoked to go into an office with the same people every day,” she said at the time, adding that she “much prefers” the work of a creative director over that of a model.
Her own personal style also greatly influences Guest in Residence’s ethos. She said, “My goal in life is to look as chic or put together as possible while always being comfortable. I very rarely, even on red carpets, will wear things that I feel uncomfortable in throughout the event because I just feel like I can’t be myself as much when I’m thinking about what I’m wearing in that way.”
As an associate editor at HarpersBAZAAR.com, Chelsey keeps a finger on the pulse on all things celeb news. She also writes on social movements, connecting with activists leading the fight on workers' rights, climate justice, and more. Offline, she’s probably spending too much time on TikTok, rewatching Emma (the 2020 version, of course), or buying yet another corset.
